The P-636 BEQ project at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina will include the construction of a bachelor housing building for permanent party military personnel. This three-story building will contain 135 sleeping rooms (double-occupancy) and the required support space to accommodate 268 military personnel. Two of the rooms will have ADA access in accordance with UFAS and ADAAG. The building footprint will contain approximately 73,000 gross square feet to accommodate living space for the personnel. This project will meet the requirements of USGBC LEED Rating System version 2.2. The site will also contain parking areas, concrete sidewalks, exterior equipment wash-down and drying areas, and a picnic shelter. The site improvements for this 5.5-acre project include site grading, storm drainage, erosion control, water (6” fire service and 8” water line), sewer (8” main and 4” services), parking lots, fire access, and roadway modifications. Additionally, the site layout of the building, parking lots for 188 spaces, and drive aisles were constrained by anti-terrorist force protection (ATFP) standoff requirements. AutoCAD was used to prepare construction documents for demolition, grading, utilities, horizontal control, and various details. Calibre coordinated with the local permitting agency to address the stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) and potential wetland disturbances. The storm system included storm sewer, swales, and culverts that were designed in accordance with UFC and NCDENR.
