To meet the growing demand for schools in the Highlands Ranch area, Douglas County Schools needed a new middle school near the eastern edge of the development. Construction included two playing fields, parking lots, bus circulation, water looping, domestic water services, fire protection services, sanitary sewer services, storm sewer collector streets, detention ponds and pedestrian paths. Tight budgeting constraints were met by utilizing the most cost effective means of draining and grading the site. Coordination with the architect and administration were closely maintained.
