Calibre is providing structural engineering in accordance with DoD UFC Criteria and VA codes.  This includes design phase structural engineering services. The project includes an AHU Replacement at Cheyenne VAMC at 2360 East Pershing Blvd, Cheyenne, WY 82001. This includes replacing the air handling unit located on the penthouse level. The existing exterior penthouse wall at the west side needs to be removed and rebuilt.
 
The rebuilt portion of the wall has a new 96x72 duct opening. Two new 48x24 openings need to be created in the exterior west and north facades of the penthouse. A new modular type, semi-custom air-handler with a max capacity of (23,000cfm) shall be installed in the southeast penthouse area. The new AHU shall have dehumidification capability using a reheat coil as well as humidification. Based on the existing structural drawings, the penthouse walls being modified are non-structural, non-load bearing masonry walls with brick veneers that have a slip connection at the top of the wall. Modifications to the wall will not affect the primary structural system.                                                                                                                                
 
The construction requires removal of the exterior cmu walls and replacement with brick veneer.
 
The project requires seismic analysis and design services.
 
Construction budget approximately $950,000-$1,200,000.
