Located in remote Cortez, Colorado, this project provided the expansion of the existing hospital and medical facilities at Cortez. Sitting on 14-acres, the Southwest Memorial Hospital expansion consisted of a two story, 19,733 SF hospital expansion, including a new patient wing (13,400 SF), a lobby renovation and update (746 SF new construction, 1,766 SF renovation), a 3,306 SF connector between facilities, and a 176-space parking lots for medical professionals, patients, and visitors. Two stories. 

 

Infrastructure included 440 LF of access and parking roadway and a 176-space parking lot. New storm sewer main and reconfiguration and expansion of the parking lot required resurfacing of roads and parking lots. The project required a stormwater management plan and drainage infrastructure, including rerouting drainage to new inlet/outlet structures and the use of disconnected impervious areas.

 

Services included schematic design, design development documents, specifications, site planning, site investigation, construction documents, fire and life safety lines, water calculations, grading, drainage, stormwater management plan, utility routing, permitting, stormwater runoff calculations, surveying, ambulatory drop-off, parking lot layout, access roadway configuration, roadway and parking signing and striping, RFIs, as-built drawings, and construction inspection services. $30M construction value.
