Located in the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System in Seattle, this project consists of demolition of two existing buildings and the construction of a single 2-story building with a basement. The existing buildings 8 & 11 are seismically unsafe and must be demolished (14,660 SF). The new building will consist of 13,500 SF and will include research and development, biomedical laboratory, and surgical facilities. Includes topographic survey and mapping, utilities location, site investigation, demolition coordination, civil construction plans, overall grading plan, drainage infrastructure, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water infrastructure, earthwork, Construction Stormwater Control and Soil Amendment Standard Plan (CSC/SA), over utility plan, and construction administration (bid clarifications, site visits, shop drawing review, CAD coordination, and record drawings. Structural design includes field investigation, structural design, seismic restraint (VA Seismic Design Requirements H-8-18), progressive collapse, and physical security engineering services.
