Revisiting Your Values


You are important.

That said, there can be days when you don’t feel so important in the workplace. You can enjoy your job and still reach that lull. You feel a disconnect, you wonder why it is you’re doing what you’re doing, what your purpose is where you’re at, and why you’re investing time into something that you’re no longer sure of.

This past weekend, I came across a Forbes article titled Can You Name Your Values? I was really only drawn in because I thought it was referring to company values and the importance of knowing them and that it would be relevant for our company blog. And while company values are important, what I found in reading the article is that knowing our own personal values should be a top priority. In knowing your values, you gain the ability to “lead an authentic life.” That’s everywhere you go. When you walk into the office in the morning, when you go home for dinner, when you travel on the weekends. When you know your values, you lead the life that you want to lead with intentionality.

If you find yourself disconnected or struggling, sit down and ask yourself what your values are. “The deeper understanding we have of how values play a role in our lives, the easier it is to align with what makes us feel good and achieve amazing success!”
